Description
The detailed design of the Research and
Innovation Unit of the Lower Silesian Center for Materials and Biomaterials was
elaborated in the Kontrapunkt V-Project Investment Team following the order of
the “EIT+” Wrocław Research Center. As part of the
investment project, 3 specialist hi-tech lab buildings will be built, located
in the Pracze research complex, at 147-149 Stabłowskiej street in Wrocław.
The complex in Pracze dates back to 1900-1930 and, together with a large park, occupies 25 hectares and is characterised by a historic urban system, which is written in the Register of Monuments. Two of the facilities existing within the complex are planned for reconstruction. According to the assumptions of the functional-utility programme, in building no. 7, the following will be created: Nanotechnology Specialist Laboratory (including, inter alia, Materials Laser Ablation Laboratory and Lab for Nanostructures and Solar Energy Conversion, Preform and Fibre Technology Workshop or Fibre Optic and Laser Amplifier Workshop), and in building no. 9: Specialist Biotechnology Laboratories (built at bio safety level BSL-3) and the Central Laboratory. The newly designed facility no. 9a will house Nanotechnology Laboratories and Specialist Biotechnology Laboratories (including, inter alia, Laboratory of Advanced Laser Technology in Technology and Medicine or Energy Storage Laboratory) as well as Central Nanotechology Laboratory. All the workshops will be prepared to implement the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
